Little India and a Boat Ride

Singapore Fact of the Day: Perhaps as a result of living in such a fast-paced, lively city, Singapore currently holds the title of having the world’s fastest movers or pedestrians scurrying about the streets. In a study conducted by the British Council, observing various cities in the world, Singapore ranked top of the list with an average walking speed of around 6, 15 kilometers per hour!

Today was one of the rainiest days we've had so far - very happy I brought my umbrella for this trip for this day alone! We all met up at LASALLE College of the Arts one last time as a starting point to check out Little India. We first walked over to The Great Madras (remember that? The first firm we went to, Farm, designed the new interior architecture for this hotel!) and saw in person what Farm did with it. It was very fascinating, and the concept was very well implemented and fun to see!

After the hotel visit, we were on our own for a couple hours before meeting back up again. We decided to check out a mall nearby to find a cool Japanese restaurant. We got helplessly lost, but inside the mall we were surprised to see a tech utopia, with somewhere between 8-10 floors just full of small tech stores on discounts! Wish I could've come back and bought some new tech for home!

Since it was so rainy, we all went back to the hotel after a bit of time in Little India. We had a boat schedule planned, but weren't sure if it was going to be cancelled due to weather. Fortunately, it cleared up in the afternoon, and I was able to see Singapore from a new angle. It took us through the center of the Marina Bay Sands and some of the downtown/metro area. It was neat to see all the sights, and realize we've been to over 90% of these places in the course of two weeks. I think if anyone goes to check out Singapore, they definitely need to do this boat ride first so they can get an overall look of the city and see what they'd like to visit. Below are some of the pictures I got to take on the ride!

Overall, it felt like a very touristy day, but that's not always a bad thing. I got to see some old things as well as some new. Tomorrow is one of our last full days, and the last day we will be checking out firms. I am looking forward to seeing what they have to offer! :)
